Business admin apprenticeship Overview

The level 3 Business Administration Apprenticeship Standard is for anyone looking to develop their Business and Administration skills to ensure great career prospects.

This programme is designed for individuals who already have practical experience or some understanding of business and wish to develop their theoretical understanding of the business sector.

Typical job roles are: Office Administrator, Receptionist, Clerical Assistant, Office Junior/Assistant etc.


What will this cost The Employer?

Non-levy paying employers will need to contribute 5% of the maximum funding band as published by the Skills Funding Agency for the delivery of training and assessment for their apprenticeship.

In this instance the fee is £250.00. However, employers with less than 50 employees who are recruiting an apprentice aged 16-18 years old will not be required to pay the contribution fee (£250.00).

Any associated cost to the individual will be made clear at the interview.


Entry requirements

You will need four GCSEs at grades A*-C or 9-4, or equivalent.

Other requirements: Level 2 English and maths.


Course Contents

During this apprenticeship you will study a range of topics, including:

• IT

• Record and document production

• Decision making

• Planning and organisation

• Project management

• Policies

• Relevant regulations

• Stakeholders

• Business processes and external environment factors.


Assessment methods

Assessment will take place at the end of the programme and will comprise of an apprentice showcase (Knowledge Test, Portfolio-based Interview and a Project Presentation).


Duration

This apprenticeship will typically take between 12 and 18 months to complete.


Career progression

The administration role may be a gateway to further career opportunities, such as management or senior support roles.

Acceptance will be subject to initial assessment and interview by the apprenticeship team to determine vocational aptitude and transferable skills levels.
